A music show called Tiger Translate 2010 with a performance by the UK’s Melodramas rock band and two Vietnamese rock bands, Unlimited and Microwave, will take place at the discotheque Apocalypse in HCMC on February 4.

The event promises to bring audiences a fascinating experience of music and culture together with the frenzy and strength of rock.

The event aims to support Vietnamese talents to show off their personalities and to exchange with international friends. Tiger Translate is a Tiger Beer cross-cultural creative platform, highlighting Asia’s bright creativeness and collaboration with Western visionaries through a series of events, exhibitions and publications.

Founded in 2008, Melodramas is famous for its young, dynamic style and hilarious punk rock songs. The band includes Gregory on bass, Matthew and Robert on guitar and vocals and Samuel on drums.

Microwave is well-known to rock lovers with its nu-metal style and modern rock pieces while Unlimited conquers audiences with its power metal style.

Tiger Translate Growth will feature Swedish rock band Tantrum to Blind, who will be performing in the country for the first time.

Founded in 2008, the four-member band formed at the Stockholm Conservatory of Music. Known for their energetic live performances, the band blasts audiences with music that is imbued with intellect and raw emotion.

The band was selected as "Artist of the Month" in January by leading Swedish telecom company Comviq.

Vietnamese rock bands UnlimiteD and Oringchains will be also sharing the stage during the Friday night show.

HCM City's UnlimiteD has played in several large venues across Viet Nam since 2003. In 2007, the band voted as the country's ‘Most Favourite Band' at Tiger Translate – Rock Your Passion, a contest for rock band nationwide.

The band released its debut album Tai Sinh (Reborn) in the same year, which received positive reviews.

The capital's Oringchains formed in December 2009 and released their debut album this year. The band implements both rock and electronic music into their compositions.

While the bands perform on stage, eight contemporary Vietnamese and international artists will "paint trees", which are actually large-size panels that will be set up in the venue.

Before the show, the artists will finish a 30m-long giant painting alongside the wall of the Hoa Lo museum.
